Project supervised by Pierre Vanni, consisting of a graphic reinterpretation of a two-minute excerpt from Sisters with Transistors (2020) by Lisa Rovner, a documentary tracing the pioneers of electronic music.
My approach was to keep only the voice-over text, replacing the images with a system of evolving halftone patterns. These patterns shift according to the narrative and key moments in the documentary — particularly those referencing the golden age of electronic music, when people were physically manipulating machines, as well as the golden age of “anatomical bombs.”
The graphic representation draws inspiration from both Op Art and the rhythmic structures inherent to electronic music.
